| Landscapes & Waterscapes Water has been the source of inspiration for my landscape paintings for over 35 years. Ponds, lakes, pools, waterfalls, streams, creeks, marshes, coves, beaches and seashores are the subjects that I turn to when I want to recharge artistically and stretch out; I surround myself with sweeping vistas and the intimate embrace of water in nature. Some of these scenes, like "Blue Marsh" and "Chippewa Plume" are just down the road in the Cuyahoga National Park and in the Shaker Lakes area of Cleveland. Others are from my travels to England and Scotland. Port Isaac in Cornwall is a fishing village I have visited and painted many times. Most of the images in this gallery are oil paintings. However, more recently I have used photo-etchings to create the "spirit of place" I want to capture. The medium of Photo-Etching is a digital process that begins with photography and then recreates the etching and embossing effects of manually printing on archival paper. Most of these images are available as originals and giclees and in a variety of sizes. |
